IndieRPGs.com Checks Out Drox Operative

Hey there, folks! I was recently given access to a preview build of Drox Operative, the upcoming outer space action RPG from Soldak Entertainment. Rather than try to describe it in a written preview, I figured I’d do something a little different: record myself playing it for the first time and offer commentary as I go. Here it is:

Please let me know in the comments how you like the video preview. Is this something you’d like to see as a regular feature on IndieRPGs.com?

It was fun, I’d definitely like to see more of these videos coming! Seeing games in action adds much to the review/preview, and you’re a good narrator too. :)

I like the atmosphere of Drox Operative, and can actually imagine myself playing this on quiet nights. I don’t know how many quests and lore will be included in the final release, but I think that would be an exciting addition to this space RPG (the moody transmissions that gave news about events in the galaxy was my favorite aspect of Imperium Galactica II, of which this game reminds me the most).

Anyway, I really hope these first impression videos will become a series!

I’d like more videos like this, good sir.

I agree with having more videos like this one. You are more detailed in your review of the game and Its always good to see some actual gameplay as well. It does say more than a pair of screenshots.

I think I pass on this specific game, but I do like a lot the new approach : >

I’d like to see a second video once you’ve gotten more familiar with how to play the game. Looks like a pretty steep learning curve.
